PECULIAR Eyewear vouches to be part of the green initiative by repurposing its production waste into eco-bricks to build its new warehouse in North Caloocan.

As part of Peculiar's vision, founder and CEO Isaac Saliendra explained that they aim to be a socially aware company. He said one of their aims is to reuse and recycle 80 percent of their production waste in 10 years.

"For our new warehouse, we use our raw and waste materials from the lenses and mix them with concrete," Saliendra said.

"Our company's mission statement is to see the world differently," the founder said.

Saliendra wants to create a social entrepreneurship company that provides a positive impact on the environment and the community. He said Peculiar Eyewear allocated funds to address selected social issues.

The company also plans to use solar power electricity for its first eco-brick facility.

Saliendra emphasized that aside from saving electricity, this move will lessen the company's carbon emissions in support of greater environmental change. He firmly believes that its time for the generation of today to act on climate change.
